This policy explains what Calorie Dose collects, why, and who it is shared with. It describes what the app actually does, not what a generic template assumes.

The short version
- We collect the body measurements and food information needed to calculate your energy needs and build your meal plans. That is health-related information, and we treat it as sensitive.
- Meal photos are never stored. A photo is sent for analysis, the food is identified, and the image is discarded. It is not saved on our servers and not kept by us in any form.
- We do not sell your data, and we never share your weight, goals, health information or meal plans with advertisers.
- You can delete your account and all of its data from inside the app.
What we collect

| Age, sex, height, weight, activity level and goal | To calculate your basal metabolic rate, daily energy needs and macronutrient targets. This is the core function of the app and it cannot work without them. |
| Diet preferences — diet type, restrictions, allergies and dislikes | So generated meal plans exclude food you cannot or will not eat. Some of this may reveal health information (allergies) or beliefs (religious dietary restrictions). We use it only to filter food. |
| Food you log, with weights, dates and times | To show your daily and weekly intake against your targets. |
| Meal photos | Analysed once to identify the food, then discarded. See below. |
| Subscription status | To unlock paid features and honour restores. Payment card details are handled by Apple and never reach us. |
| Technical usage records — which AI model ran, token counts, cost and a timestamp | To enforce fair-use limits and control our costs. These records contain no content from your plans, photos or diary. |

Meal photos, specifically
When you photograph a meal, the image is sent to our AI provider, which identifies the foods in it and returns a list of ingredients and estimated weights. The image is not written to our database and is not retained by us. Only the resulting food list — which you review and correct before saving — is stored, together with a record of the analysis cost.
Who your data is shared with
We do not sell personal data. We use the following service providers, each of which processes data on our behalf:

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety or property of our users or ourselves.
Advertising
Calorie Dose shows banner advertising to users who do not have a subscription. Subscribers see no ads.
Before any personalised advertising, you are asked for permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt and, where applicable, a consent form. If you decline, advertising still appears but is not personalised.
Advertisers never receive your health information. Your weight, body measurements, goals, diet preferences, food diary and meal plans are never shared with our advertising provider. Only your device's advertising identifier is, and only with your permission.
International transfers
Your data is stored in Singapore and processed by providers in the United States and elsewhere. By using Calorie Dose you understand that your information is transferred outside your country of residence, where data protection laws may differ.
How long we keep it
- Account and health data — kept while your account exists.
- Meal photos — never stored.
- Usage records — kept for fair-use limits and accounting.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account from inside the app, in your profile settings. This removes your profile, body measurements, diet preferences, food log, meal plans and subscription records. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
If you cannot access the app, email app.realm.ar@gmail.com and we will delete your account on request.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to processing, and withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, contact app.realm.ar@gmail.com.
Users in Sri Lanka have rights under the Personal Data Protection Act No. 9 of 2022. Users in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom have rights under the GDPR.
Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with per-user access controls, so that one account cannot read another's data. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
Calorie Dose is not intended for anyone under 18. It calculates calorie targets, which is not appropriate for children or adolescents without medical supervision. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with data, contact us and we will delete it.
Not medical advice
Calorie Dose provides estimates for general wellness. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Calorie and macronutrient figures are calculated estimates, and nutrition values are drawn from published food composition data, which varies between sources and preparations. Consult a qualified healthcare professional before making significant changes to your diet, particularly if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have a medical condition.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed. Significant changes will be notified in the app.
